Rise Of The Tomb Raider - Lara Screenshots

Here's a small collection of some of my favorite images of Lara. I modeled and textured the final version of Lara's head as well as several of her main outfits. However, putting together such a world-class character required the collaboration of many great artists, including Dan Roarty and Sze Jones. It was truly an honor to work with such talent!

  1. In the older Pictures of RotTR her Eyes appeared more natural than in the final composite in the Game.

    Have the models parallaxing eye shaders since the beginning or had you used another method (Full 3D modeled with reflection, refraction etc.) before they got changed?

  2. Hi SlimPlay! We had the same parallax eye shader for the duration of production. Admittedly, there were some in-game lighting situations that did not work well with it. Also, the parallaxing calculations seemed "off" at times. We have a better one now that we'll introduce with the next game. Thank you for your thoughtful comments!

    1. Oh you truly did. The eyes in the SotTR are amazing! Thank you for responding though! Say, how much input did you had for the next game? Teams have changed a lot as Crystal Dynamics was just supporting developer for the next game.
